Outdoor Nation Ltd (“Outdoor Nation”) is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 11994212. 

Outdoor Nation provides information and booking information for outdoor activities in the UK and is referred to as “we”, “Outdoor Nation” and the “Platform” throughout this document.

This document is both for the use of people using the Platform to find information and to book services (to be referred to as “Users”), and for companies and providers listing their services on the Platform (to be referred to as “Partners”).  

By browsing our website, booking with Outdoor Nation and expressly consenting where required, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

Use of the Outdoor Nation platform 

Users of the Outdoor Nation website that merely view the webpages do not need to provide any information to do so.

When you create an account with Outdoor Nation you become an Outdoor Nation “Member” and we store the information you provide so you can use the website, upload or buy experiences, send messages to other users and Partners and manage any bookings.

When you opt to list your Services on the Platform you become an Outdoor Nation “Partner” and we store the information you provide so you can use the website, upload your services, send messages to Users and manage your bookings.

The data we collect and what we use it for 

We collect certain identity data for users, including name, phone, email address, and the answers provided to questionnaires about interests and experience. This enables us to manage our relationship with you, including notifying you about changes to our terms or privacy policy, and providing a better and more personalised experience.

We do NOT collect any details of your bank account but we do collect Transaction Data, including details about payments to and from both Users and Partners. This enables us to facilitate your purchases through the Platform.

We collect certain Technical Data, including IP address, location and operating system. This is to enable us to administer and protect our business and the Platform (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of data). Location data enables important personalisation in the Platform’s mapping tool.  

We collect certain Profile Data, including usernames, passwords, purchases made, user/customer preferences/feedback. This enables us to maintain the functionality of your membership profile.

We collect Usage Data, including information about how users uses the website, products and services. This enables us to improve our Platform, products/services, marketing, customer relationships and experiences.

We collect Marketing and Communications Data, including users’ and Partners’ preferences in receiving marketing communications. This enables us to deliver relevant content to you and measure or understand the effectiveness of our content.

For our Partners, we also collect all additional data you submit as part of the creation of your Partner profile. This enables us to present your business in the best possible light to users.

Opting into and out of communications

We will not contact you without your consent, with the exception of for operational reasons relating to issues such as membership, partnership and use of the Platform.

Users and Partners will be invited to subscribe to various communications which can be unsubscribed from at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of all correspondence.

Sharing your data with third parties 

​

When booking with an Outdoor Nation Partner, Users’ booking information and personal information may shared been Outdoor Nation and the relevant Partner to facilitate the booking process and improve services.

Outside of sharing data with the Partner you booked with and with critical third parties supporting the Outdoor Nation infrastructure, we will never share personal or sensitive information with third-parties without your explicit permission.

The one exception is, in order to comply with law or reasonable requests from law enforcement agencies or authorities, we may disclose your data if we are compelled to do so.  

​

For businesses, by using Outdoor Nation you can opt to share your business information, service offerings and availability across our third party websites to attract more customers and bookings.

Retention of data 

When using Outdoor Nation, your data is held in our system for as long as is necessary to fulfil the Platform objectives and purpose for which you submitted it. We may retain your personal information for longer if it may be the subject of a legal claim, or may otherwise be relevant for future litigation. You can request access to the data we store about you and you can request for your data to be deleted. Data removal requests will be assessed and deleted within 30 days, with both customer and relevant Partners notified.

Information and data security

Outdoor Nation has in place appropriate technological and operational security processes designed to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorised employees and contractors will have access to any data provided by you, and that access is limited by a need to know basis. Each employee or contractor having access to any personally-identifiable information is obligated to maintain its confidentiality. Although we take steps that are generally accepted as industry standard to protect your personally-identifiable information, Outdoor Nation cannot guarantee that your personally-identifiable information will not become accessible to unauthorised persons and Outdoor Nation cannot be responsible for any actions resulting from a breach of security when information is supplied over the Internet or any public computer network.
