Walk Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) Range from the village of Llanberis on the North West edge of the Snowdon Massif. This popular lake-side hub in the heart of Snowdonia offers the easiest and most popular route up Mount Snowdon. Whilst longer than other routes, it is the most gradual and is best suited to less experienced hikers. That said, this is still a challenging hike! The mountain train operates from here when the weather permits allowing people to reach the summit by train. It is popular to use it one way, either hiking to the top to return by train or vice versa. There is plenty more to do when you are in Llanberis, including walking swimming and paddling at the Lake Padarn Country Park.
Free public access
A challanging route to undertake with dogs and keep under control around sheep
Plenty of options in the village and a cafe on the summit when trains are operating
Public toilets at the station and in the village
Plenty of options nearby
