Walk the Valleys and Mountains from Capel Curig, a small village set in a dramatic location at the tip of the Glydr mountain range and home to Plas y Brenin, the National Outdoor Centre. This is a fantastic place to walk from with options for all abilities, let down only by the limited parking. There are some big walks from here, including taking on the Glydr Mountains, up past Tyfan to Glydr Fach. You can also follow the easy-going and well marked Snowdonia Slate Path West down the Ogwen Valley to Cwm Idwal and beyond to Bethesda. Heading East on the Slate Path takes you into the Gwydr Forest and on to the River leadingpast Swallow Fallsto Betwys y Coed. Whichever way you go you can return by bus to the start and there are also some great circular routes.
