Walk the Lledr Valley from Dolwyddelan, a lush valley in the heart of Snowdonia steeped in history. The small village of Dolwyddelan has a train station and is well served by the local bus service so is a great place from which to explore some fantastic walking routes. You can take a short gentle walk along the old Roman road into the peaceful forest valley of Cwm Penamnen south of Dolwyddelan. Alternatively head west up the valley along the river and circling back via Dolwyddelan castle, the impressive 13th century castle belonging to Llewelyn the Great. There are longer walks that take you up into the remote Crimea valley and surrounding mountains.
