Nunney's Wood car park is a great starting point for exploring the Hamstead Point and the Newton Harbour National Nature Reserve. It is also a good place to follow the coastal path West along Bouldnor Cliffs and onto Yarmouth. If heading East, the coastal path is forced inland and onto roads because of the creek and the nearby military training area, so best avoid unless you are doing the whole island circuit.
