Walk the Basingstoke Canal from Brookwood, with its excellent train services making this a great option for public transport. This historic and pretty canal cuts its way from Odiham Castle in Hampshire to where it meets the River Wey in Surrey. From the canal in Brookwood, head South to enjoy a series of pretty locks on the way to Frimley and the lakes at Ash, or head North to St Johns and beyond through Woking to the canal's end. Whichever way you go, there are easy train connections to return. There is also an interesting circular taking in the grade 1 listed historic park and gardens of Brookwood Cemetery.
