Walk at the Cadair Idris National Nature Reserve, set in the south of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and dominated by distinctive mountain peaks that can be seen for miles around. Full of legend and myth, and with stunning and varied landscapes, this quieter region of Snowdonia is a fantastic place to enjoy the mountains.
From the Ty Nant car park, on the Dolgellau side of the Mountain, you can enjoy relatively easy-going trails around Crag y Castell and over to the stunning riverside haven of Penmaenpool . For the more adventurous, there is Cadair Idris itself which, at 893 m (2,930 ft), is a popular peak to conquer. The Pony Path takes you from the car park to the summit with stunning views over the Mawddach estuary towards Barmouth.
