Walk at the Cadair Idris National Nature Reserve, set in the south of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and dominated by distinctive mountain peaks that can be seen for miles around. Full of legend and myth, and with stunning and varied landscapes, this quieter region of Snowdonia is a fantastic place to enjoy the mountains. From the Dôl Idris car park and visitor centre you can explore the parkland and lake on fully accessible and easy going trails. You can also head further into the reserve through the gorge and the 'Celtic Rainforest'. For the more adventurous, there is Cadair Idris itself which, at 893 m (2,930 ft), is a popular peak to conquer. The Minffordd Path takes you from the car park to the summit and is the shortest but steepest of the three routes up the mountain.
