Walk at Ockham and Wisley Commons with its ancient woodlands, sprawling heathlands, and tranquil ponds. Managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust this Nationally important site is home a rare population of dragonflies and damselfiles and their predator, the Hobby. The site is divided by the motorway with a connecting footbridge and the main parking areas on the south side. Varied circular walks are on offer here and a chance to see the Semaphore Tower, the last remaining tower of a chain of towers used to pass messages between the Admiralty in Whitehall and the Royal Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth.
