Swim in the Afon Ogwen, a little known but stunning spot on the Ogwen River just up from Bethesda centre. Here there are grassy banks and easy access to a gorgeous stretch in the river. Its a great place to picnic and enjoy the gentle river before it hits the weir and beautiful set of rapids running into the town. There are no facilities here and extremely limited road side parking. You can walk here from Bethesda, either straight up the road, or better through the Coed Bryn Park and along the Snowdonia slate trail that hugs the river bank where you cross the bridge at the weir onto the grassy banks on the far side.
