Paddle in a tranquil, sheltered part of Christchurch Bay from Mudeford. This is a great spot for beginners, with ample parking, plenty of open space to set up and have a picnic, and easy access to sheltered water. It is of course tidal so check tide times before you go and be wary of getting caught out at low tide. If you get your timings right, you can head across the Bay to Christchurch Town Quay and explore the lower ends of the River Stroud or River Avon. You can hire and get tuition on site or even join the Highcliffe Sailing Club on the Quay.
Free - no licence required to paddle on this tidal stretch of water
Suitable for dogs but they are taken on the water at your own (and the dogs) risk.
There's a pub along the Quay
Toilets available including accessible toilets
No camping options nearby.
